'How the cookie crumbles,' Draymond Green relentlessly bashes Rudy Gobert for letting Karl Anthony-Towns guard Nikola Jokic
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets in game 6, forcing a game 7 in Denver. Their star player, Anthony Edwards dropped 27 points on the Nuggets. Interestingly, they even kept the 2024 NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic quiet. However, Karl Anthony-Towns was given the role of guarding Jokic instead of Timberwolves’ star center and 2024 NBA DPOY, Rudy Gobert .

Notably, Draymond Green , an NBA legend with the Golden State Warriors noticed this and put forward his views on Gobert and Towns. He claimed on the “Draymond Green Show” that it was unusual for a DPOY not to do his role of guarding the opposition’s best player, Nikola Jokic.

We sitting here breaking down KAT having to stop Joker, who’s a center. And a Defensive Player of the Year is on your team, and he a center, Very interesting how the cookie crumbles.” Draymond Green on The Draymond Green Show

In addition, Green compared it to asking Jaylen Brown to protect Warriors great Steph Curry in place of Marcus Smart . Also, Smart was named NBA Defensive Player of the Year with the Boston Celtics in 2021–2022.

Draymond Green never misses a chance to criticize Rudy Gobert

Rudy Gobert is deeply disliked by Draymond Green. The Golden State Warriors star enjoys making fun of the Minnesota Timberwolves and will not pass up the chance to trash-speak the Frenchman. After Gobert and Timberwolves’ harsh game 5 loss against the Denver Nuggets, Green pounced on the opportunity to slander Gobert.

Rudy Gobert went from unplayable in the playoffs, to playable these playoffs, to unplayable in the playoffs. The last three games, he’s been unplayable in the playoffs. Draymond Green said on the NBA on TNT show

Furthermore, Green’s hate for Gobert has a long history. The two stars were involved in a physical battle when, during a game, the Warriors star choked the center of the Timberwolves. Therefore, it’s not like the Golden State star’s apparent rage has just appeared out of nowhere.
